Offering three different plug-in hybrid options, the Z9 GT has a price range of $47,000 to $57,000 . In these models, a 2.0-liter gasoline engine is combined with an electric motor producing a total of 640 kW. BYD states that these versions offer a range of up to 1,100 km.
The fully electric versions are priced between $50,000 and $54,000 . These models, which produce 710 kW with a three-motor setup, promise a range of 630 km on a single charge. All Z9 GT models come equipped with BYD’s E3P advanced driver assistance system.
The company’s revamped driver assistance system includes features such as smart navigation on highways and close-range parking. BYD also plans to offer a mapless version for city driving early next year.
Designed under the leadership of former Audi design chief Wolfgang Egger , the Z9 GT has a fastback-sedan design. The 5180 mm long sedan offers a wide 3125 mm wheelbase. Technologies such as the dual-motor rear axle, which provides up to 10 degrees of steering, improve the driving dynamics of the Z9 GT.
The interior features an LCD instrument panel, massaging front seats, a Devialet sound system, and various artificial intelligence functions. The Z9 GT has the potential to be a major player in the premium sedan market. Of course, let’s note that it will be exclusive to China at first.
